Reheating:
Foil or Plastic?
Meals are packaged in plastic unless you specify foil in the order. You can choose to have your meals packaged in foil or plastic containers depending on how you intend to reheat them.
FOIL: Best for heating on camp stove, fire, oven or air-fryer.
PLASTIC: Best for heating in the microwave.
All of our meals that are packaged in foil containers can go directly over a flame however, some meals are also in plastic as well for portability. Make sure to remove the food from the plastic before heating.
Each meal reheats at slightly different times so check the directions on the individual package. Keep in mind that altitude while camping can also effect the heating times.
You can reheat meals when thawed or frozen.
Can I heat my food over the campfire?
Cooking over a campfire is fun and definitely the best reheating option. Specify foil containers when you order so that they can go directly over a flame. We recommend using a cooking grate and keeping the cooking area at a low heat from the fire so that your food does not cook too fast and burn.
Cooking over fire will take some time to do it right... so relax and chill by the campfire while your food heats.
Can I use a Stovetop, Camp Stove, Oven or Air-fryer?
Our foil containers can go on a stovetop, camp stove or in the oven as well! At home or at the campground you can reheat your food any way that you would like.
A Microwave?
Our food is microwave ready if packaged in plastic.

Food Safety:
How long will my meals last?
Our meals are best if eaten between 3 to 7 days from the day that they're prepared.
If you choose to freeze your meals after receiving them, your meals will be best if eaten anywhere between 7 to 14 days.
Can my meals go in a cooler?
-
Use a cooler or refrigerator to keep your food at or below 40ËšF at all times prior to eating it.
-
Be sure to heat your food thoroughly before eating it.
-
Protect your meals from getting wet in the cooler as water could damage it. If you need to use ice, we recommend bagging your ice or the food so that it has a water barrier.
-
You can also freeze your food ahead of time so that it will stay cold longer in your cooler.
